Preparation

Add 2 parts water to 1 part Hemp for soaking. To prepare Hemp properly it is best soaked for 24 hours or up to 48 hours if you wish which will reduce the cooking time overall. DO NOT add any salt, flavour or other additive at this point just use plain water. Adding substances to your soaking water will only prolong the cooking process and may result in your Hemp not cooking/splitting. Boil for 20-30 minutes stirring occasionally. As the first kernals start to split you can now add any salts, spices at this point and continue to cook. If you wish to add any liquid flavours this is best done after cooking is complete to avoid "boiling off" the flavour added. Leave to cool in the boiling liquid if you want really black Hemp.

Storage

  • Store dry hemp in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight for up to 18 months.
  • Prepared Hemp does go sour very quickly (2-3 Days) but can be frozen for as long as you like.

Tips

  • Keep the cooking juices in old plastic drinks bottles and freeze. This can later be added to groundbaits and spod mixes.
  • Always make sure you thoroughly defrost frozen Hemp as it will float if not thawed fully.
  • Frozen bags of Hemp and Hemp Juice stay frozen for ages so give yourself plenty of time to thaw them out. This also makes them ideal for make shift freezer blocks in session bags!
