Recycling Policy

NSA Baits & Feed Recycling & Waste

At NSA we try to keep all of our waste down to a minimum as most other companies do. In order to reduce our burden on the environment we recycle as much of our waste as possible with less than 5% going to landfill. One of the main impacts we have at present is in the form of packaging for postage such as heavy duty cardboard boxes. Currently we buy new boxes which are around 75% recycled material. In order to improve our environmental impact even further we have teamed up with other local businesses to recycle packaging which they would otherwise compact and send for re-manufacture. As a result our carbon footprint for recycling these boxes is close to zero.  Dead space inside boxes also causes problems and new loose fill packaging will no longer be used at NSA. Instead we will re-use paper shreads or otherwise unuseable recycled packaging filler which we ourselves have received goods in.

To summarise.

  • All new packaging will be constructed from recycled materials wherever possible.
  • Wherever possible outer packaging will be recycled/re-used.
  • All loose fill will be recycled from packaging which is otherwise unuseable.
  • All of our recycled outer packaging will have the NSA recycling logo stamped on the box.

As we progress we will endeavour to improve our recycling scheme and reduce our carbon footprint by sourcing greener products and adapting our business processes.
