Milk and egg products are routinely used in boilie base mixes as a means to improve the protein content. Egg powders also bind baits such as pastes and boilies, whilst milk powders maintain digestibility in colder temperatures. Milk products are also very useful in groundbaits where they can serve several purposes such as clouding the water and leaving an amino acid trail in the water column. More recently milk products have been incorporated into specific groundbaits for fishing the Zig rig.
